Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Estes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uti Uche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Estes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Uti Uche!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Uche enables Estes to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Uche manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Estes slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Estes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Uche has a closed guard, preventing Estes from standing up.

Uche is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Estes throwing strikes but missing.

Estes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Estes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Estes postures up and lands a big shot to Uche's brow.
Estes makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Uche throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Uche is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Estes wants to get up but he can't break Uche's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Uche wants to stand but Estes is controlling the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Uche is trying to keep Estes in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Uti Uche was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Uche misses with an attempted mid kick.
Uche tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Estes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Estes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Uche sprawls well initially but Estes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Estes passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Uche!
Uche is working to get back to half guard.

Uche is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Estes avoids the attempt from Uche to control.
Uche in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Estes wants to control the pace but Uche is squirming around nicely.
BOOM! Estes connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Uche is in a horrible position here. Estes smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Uche is squirming around, avoiding Estes's attempts to control the action.
Uche is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Estes with shots to the head and body - Uche looks very uncomfortable down there.
Estes breaks from Uche's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Uche tries to hold on but Estes postures up.

Estes is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Uche has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Uche!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Estes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Uche's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Estes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Uche lands with a right hand.


It looks like Jason Estes has been cut.

Estes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Uche, pushing him back against the cage.

Estes jumps into guard, dragging Uche to the mat.
Estes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Estes tries to get out of the position.

Estes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Uche defends it easily.
Uche's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Estes wants to stand up but Uche is controlling him.
Uche trying to control but Estes is working from the bottom.

Uche stands up and waves to Estes to follow him.
Uche misses with a takedown attempt

and Estes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Uche's guard.
Estes won't allow Uche to get back to his feet.
Uche preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Estes wants to control from the top but Uche keeps moving.
Estes passes Uche's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Estes slows the pace down in half guard.
Uche wants to get back to full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Estes trying to control from Uche's half guard. Uche has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Estes trying to control the position from guard on top but Uche is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Estes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Estes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Jason Estes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Estes shoots in for a double leg but Uche sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Uche fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Estes avoids it really well and circles away.
Jason Estes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jason Estes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uti Uche.

Estes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Uche was covering up waiting for the punch and Estes finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Estes trying to control the position from guard on top but Uche is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Estes wants to stand but Uche is controlling his arm.

Uche is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Estes is staying active.
Estes working the ground and pound from side control.
Estes throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Uche works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Estes is thwarting Uche's attempts to control the position.
Estes is looking to take a break and control but Uche is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Estes throws a right hand that Uche ducks under and follows up with a left that Uche also avoids with ease.

Estes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Uche manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Uche manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Estes manages to get himself to full guard.
Uche wants to control from the top but Estes keeps moving.

Estes seems keen to control Uche's posture.

Estes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Jason Estes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Some wild striking there from Uche.
Uche shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Estes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Uche can do to turn this around?

Uche throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Uche is trying to break free.
Uche gets underhooks to prevent Estes's takedown attempt.

Estes gets control of Uche's arms and successfully pulls guard. Estes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Uche's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Estes is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Uche rolls with it to try and escape but Estes cranks on the arm and Uche is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
