Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Toney Benjamin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boedy House (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). House has chosen Welcome Home as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Toney Benjamin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Boedy House!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benjamin fails with a takedown attempt.

House shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Benjamin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

House gets to his feet - Benjamin follows without any prompting.
House throws a head kick that misses.
House scores with a body shot.

House scores with a takedown into Benjamin's guard.
House stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benjamin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Benjamin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Benjamin keeping moving, preventing House from controlling successfully.
House sitting in guard here, content to control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
House tries to free his leg and advance position but Benjamin is retaining full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Boedy House hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

House has Benjamin up against the cage in a clinch.
Benjamin tries to pull guard but House won't allow it.

House lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
House is looking to take a break and control but Benjamin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

House lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
House is nestled in close to Benjamin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
House tries to pass to full mount but Benjamin defends it.
House is looking to take a break and control but Benjamin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

House is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
House trying to mount his opponent but Benjamin defends it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
House throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
House looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Boedy House hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
House throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Benjamin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

House moves into the clinch.
Benjamin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Benjamin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. House just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Toney Benjamin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Benjamin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. House smiles and moves away.

House shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Benjamin is trying to defend but House finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
House keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
House is looking to take a break and control but Benjamin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boedy House dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



House fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Benjamin to the ground. House is now in Benjamin's guard.
Benjamin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Boedy House has got the better of the ground game so far.
House stays in close to Benjamin's body and controls the position.

Benjamin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
House looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

House decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Benjamin, up you get!

House clinches with his opponent.

House has picked Benjamin up - he's going for a ride! House dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
House trying to control from half guard but Benjamin is working away.
House is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
House works his way into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
House trying to control the position but Benjamin is working away.
House taking a break here but Benjamin is having none of it and regains half guard.
House trying to control from Benjamin's half guard. Benjamin has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as House accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
House pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Benjamin is keeping the position for now.
Benjamin wants to stand and escape but House is having none of it.
Benjamin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
House with a flurry of punches that miss.
House trying to control the position from guard on top but Benjamin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
House might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Benjamin haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Boedy House was stalling too much, according to the referee.

House looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Benjamin!
House is breathing heavily.
Benjamin parries the strikes from House easily there. House is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Benjamin to escape.
House cracks Benjamin with a big right hand but Benjamin just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Benjamin is not content to let House control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Benjamin struggling a bit here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boedy House showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Benjamin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



House forces Benjamin back against the cage and clinches.
Benjamin is trying to pull guard but House turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Benjamin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Benjamin jumps guard and drags House to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Benjamin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
House passes Benjamin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
House wants to take a breather but Benjamin is having none of it.
House is looking to advance position but Benjamin won't allow it.
Benjamin is not content to let House control the position.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

House seems to be looking for submissions.

House gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

House gets in close and instigates a clinch.
House has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

House manages to pull guard.
Benjamin stopping the sweep attempt from House.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
House keeps trying to improve his position.
House takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Benjamin lands a couple of digs.
House has a closed guard, preventing Benjamin from standing up.
Benjamin preventing the sweep.

House pulls Benjamin in close to prevent any damage.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Boedy House wasn't active enough on the ground.

House scores with a takedown into Benjamin's guard.
Benjamin keeping full guard, as House tries to pass.
House postures up.

House drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Benjamin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now House has Benjamin in his guard.

Benjamin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as House works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Boedy House is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
House keeping moving, preventing Benjamin from controlling successfully.
House controls Benjamin momentarily but Benjamin frees himself.
Toney Benjamin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We're going to have a standup here because Toney Benjamin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
House throws a head kick but Benjamin moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Boedy House comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well House has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
