Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Seymour Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Roster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roster has chosen Welcome Home as his entrance music. Seymour Reilly has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seymour Reilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Roster!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Damien Edna and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roster closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reilly to the mat! Reilly manages to get full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Roster won't allow Reilly to get back to his feet.
Roster wants to control from the top but Reilly keeps moving.
Reilly doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Reilly will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reilly wants to get back to his feet but Roster is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Phil Roster was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Roster tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reilly swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Roster lands with a good body shot.
Reilly blocks a low kick nicely.
Roster displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reilly.

Roster fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reilly sprawls well initially but Roster persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Reilly looks like he's trying to stand up.
Reilly is refusing to be controlled, as Roster sits in half guard.
Roster throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Reilly to regain full guard.

Roster stands up from Reilly's guard - Roster perhaps looking for a knockout.

Reilly throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Roster tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Reilly is in Roster's guard.
Roster wants to stand up but Reilly is controlling him.
Roster wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roster is trying to keep Reilly in close.
Roster is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reilly is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Seymour Reilly just wasn't active enough.
Roster throws a lazy right hand but Reilly sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Roster gets tackled into the cage by Reilly. Reilly maintains the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Reilly pulls guard successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roster passes into half guard.
Reilly controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Roster decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Reilly gets caught flat footed, as Roster shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Roster tries to free his leg and advance position but Reilly is retaining full guard.
Roster would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Roster must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Roster looks winded!

Reilly escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roster gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Roster postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Reilly wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Reilly looking for a guillotine here but Roster defends easily.
Roster wants to control from the top but Reilly keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil Roster dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Roster shoots in and gets a takedown into Reilly's guard.
Reilly controls Roster momentarily but Roster frees himself.
Roster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reilly. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Reilly striking off his back but it's not causing Roster any problems.

Reilly is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roster stands up from Reilly's guard - Roster perhaps looking for a knockout.

Reilly shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Roster napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roster can't do much from the bottom here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reilly sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Roster is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Reilly cracks Roster with a big right hand but Roster just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Roster can't do much from the bottom here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roster sneaks back into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roster trying to control but Reilly postures up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Phil Roster wasn't active enough on the ground.
Roster swings for the body but Reilly moves out of range.
Roster's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Roster duly obliges.


Reilly is rocked!

Roster closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Reilly quickly recovers to half guard.
Oh Reilly is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roster lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Reilly quite badly. Reilly pulls Roster in close trying to recover. Roster postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Reilly on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Reilly doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phil Roster!
Phil Roster took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
