The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mann misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mann misses with a body shot.
Melo throws a leg kick but Mann sees it coming and moves out of range.
Mann throws a body punch but Melo moves out of range.
Melo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mann is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Mann thows a body shot but no joy.
Melo throws a nice outside leg kick.
Melo moves out of range of the leg kick from Mann.
Melo misses the shot to the body.
Mann throws a low kick but it's checked well by Melo.
Mann throws a lazy uppercut
and Melo counters with a head kick. That will keep Mann thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Melo throws out a powerful jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mann takes a swing at Melo's ribcage but misses.
Melo moves out of range as Mann throws a body kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Melo.
The fighters circling - Mann throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Melo throws out a leg kick but Mann moves out of range and Melo only half commits.
Mann misses with a hook to the body
and Melo counters with a nice body kick.
Melo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Melo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Mann shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Mann swinging wildly here.
Melo throws a front kick that sends Mann stumbling back into the cage.
Mann is looking to clinch but Melo is avoiding it.
Melo thuds his shin into the meat of Mann's side.
Melo throws a quick inside leg kick.
Mann is breathing heavily.
Mann ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Melo moves away.
Melo looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Mann fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Melo manages to avoid it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Melo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Melo lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like Mark Mann has been cut.
Mann throws a shot from downtown. Melo moves away and avoids it.
Mann tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Melo is looking to slow Mann down with leg kicks.
Melo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Melo throws a head kick that misses.
Nice uppercut there from Mann.
Melo is looking to land body kicks.
Melo throws a head kick that Mann semi-blocks.
A jab from Mann misses.
Mann misses with a head kick.
Melo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Melo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mann has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Mann chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Melo can pounce on him.
Melo throws a nice inside leg kick.
Melo cracks Mann with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

and Melo counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Oh Mann is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A head kick by Melo - that's a beauty! Mann is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Melo can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
