Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kim Ruuti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Wren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim Ruuti has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kim Ruuti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Wren!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruuti tries a head kick but it misses.

Wren changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ruuti looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ruuti is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Wren prevents Ruuti from escaping the position.
Ruuti tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wren stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Wren misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wren tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ruuti paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wren lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Wren throws a series of punches but Ruuti moves out of range.

Wren looks to land a combination but Ruuti avoids it well.

Ruuti closes the distance and clinches.
Ruuti is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wren pulls him back up using the underhooks.
With the fighters up against the cage, Ruuti throws an elbow but misses.

Wren is trying to trip Ruuti. He has hold of a leg but Ruuti is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wren persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Wren has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ruuti is proving hard to escape from.

Wren drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ruuti looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ruuti looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ruuti!

Ruuti really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ruuti sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wren's guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Ruuti lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Wren throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ruuti sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Wren has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ruuti can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alan Wren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruuti goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ruuti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wren swivels though and keeps the full guard.

I would just about give that final round to Alan Wren.
I've got Wren winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
