Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Southland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Marcus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyrone Marcus told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcus throws a solid leg kick but Southland takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Marcus.
Marcus tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Southland is able to avoid easily.
Marcus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd cheers as Marcus lands an impressive looking overhand right. Southland doesn't seem phased though.

Southland tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Marcus defends well and Southland ends up having to push Marcus into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marcus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Southland.
Marcus tries to bum rush Southland with a series of wild strikes but Southland uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Southland feints and as Marcus raises his hands in defense, Southland changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Southland has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Southland is landing with strikes. Marcus can't take much more of this.

Sammy Southland overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
