The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trindade closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tanner quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trindade is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Tanner is defending against the submission attempts here by Trindade.
Tanner is staying active underneath Trindade, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Trindade changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tanner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
