The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepherd feints and as Reed raises his hands in defense, Shepherd changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Shepherd trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Shepherd throws a big right hand that misses.
Reed looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Reed controlling the position.
Shepherd wants to stand and escape but instead Reed has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Reed drops back looking for a leg! Shepherd is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shepherd manages to kick Reed off! Reed jumps back into Shepherd's guard.

Reed decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shepherd, up you get!

Shepherd gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Shepherd's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shepherd pounces like a tiger and cracks Reed with a vicious hook! Reed is down but not out! Shepherd follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
