Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abraham Hubbard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emre Jonathan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Abraham Hubbard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Emre Jonathan!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Francis DeMontford and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonathan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jonathan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like Jonathan is going to stand back up.
Jonathan wants to pass the guard but Hubbard is defending well.
Hubbard tries to get to full guard but Jonathan has control of the leg.
Hubbard keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hubbard is looking to improve his position.
Jonathan moves into full mount! Hubbard won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jonathan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Jonathan controlling his opponent.
Jonathan punching from mount but Hubbard doing a good job of avoiding damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hubbard holds on to Jonathan around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Hubbard tries to hold on but Jonathan postures up.
Jonathan throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Jonathan controlling the position easily from mount.
Jonathan misses with a head shot.
Jonathan misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Hubbard tries to reverse the position but Jonathan maintains control.

Jonathan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hubbard is looking to escape.
Jonathan unloads with some shots from mount but Hubbard bucks and avoids them well.
Jonathan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jonathan looking to control but Hubbard is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hubbard keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jonathan throws some wild stikes that Hubbard manages to avoid easily.
Jonathan misses with a head shot.
Jonathan sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Jonathan prevents Hubbard from getting the reversal.
Jonathan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Jonathan tries to control but Hubbard wriggling away.
Poor strikes thrown by Jonathan there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hubbard wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jonathan.

Jonathan has hold of Hubbard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hubbard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emre Jonathan dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hubbard shoots in and drives through. Jonathan sprawls well.
Hubbard takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Jonathan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hubbard was covering up waiting for the punch and Jonathan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jonathan looking to sit in guard and control but Hubbard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jonathan is pulling down on Hubbard's head to control his posture.

Jonathan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hubbard manages to get himself to full guard.
Jonathan stands and throws Hubbard's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Jonathan.
Jonathan slows the pace down.
An elbow from Jonathan crashes against the mat.
Hubbard is trying to improve his position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Jonathan gets to mount! Hubbard was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Hubbard wants to hold on but Jonathan pushes him away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hubbard working to try and regain half guard.
Hubbard sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Jonathan not doing much here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jonathan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Hubbard blocking the ground and pound.
Jonathan trying to control but Hubbard is having none of it.
Jonathan controlling the position easily from mount.
Jonathan unloads with some shots from mount but Hubbard bucks and avoids them well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Emre Jonathan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jonathan throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Jonathan controlling the pace for now.
Hubbard tries to hold on but Jonathan pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jonathan throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emre Jonathan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Jonathan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jonathan lands in his opponent's guard.
Jonathan wants to control from the top but Hubbard keeps moving.
Jonathan wants to get up but he can't break Hubbard's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hubbard looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jonathan is one step ahead there.
Jonathan looking to sit in guard and control but Hubbard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jonathan wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hubbard is now in half guard.

Jonathan is controlling Hubbard's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hubbard prevents Jonathan from standing back up.
Jonathan keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Emre Jonathan.

Jonathan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hubbard is trying to defend but Jonathan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hubbard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hubbard is looking for a sweep. Jonathan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jonathan is trying to control the action in half guard but Hubbard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hubbard is in trouble now - Jonathan has advanced to mount!
Hubbard keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Hubbard wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jonathan.

Hubbard wants to control his opponent's hands but Jonathan gets his hands free.

Emre Jonathan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jonathan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
