The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Spartan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cerrone paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Spartan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Valentino Cerrone has been cut.

and Spartan counters with a three punch combo that has Cerrone backing up. Cerrone nods at Spartan to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Spartan counters with a crisp one two that drops Cerrone! Spartan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Cerrone to his feet! Cerrone is in big trouble!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
