Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Laston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Handle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Handle has chosen Right On as his entrance music. Max Handle is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derrick Laston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Handle!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laston on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Laston slaps away a takedown attempt from Handle, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Laston slips a jab and a cross from Handle.
Handle defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Laston.
Handle should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The fight stays on the outside here - Handle looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Handle fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Laston shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Handle defends it nicely.
Handle misses with a double jab.
Handle tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Laston tries for a takedown but Handle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derrick Laston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laston looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Handle is fending him off so far but Laston persists. Nope, Handle circles away and we're back to standing.
Handle shoots in but no luck this time.
Laston has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Handle.
Horrible takedown by Laston or perhaps it was just good defense by Handle which made him look bad.
Handle defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Laston.
Handle misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Handle fails with a takedown attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Handle throws a nice looking combination but Laston bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Laston is trying hard to land a takedown here. Handle sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Handle moves into the clinch successfully.
Laston has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Handle avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Handle misses with an elbow strike.
Laston tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Handle smiles and moves away.
Laston tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Handle defends well and Laston ends up having to push Handle into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Laston is breathing heavily.
Handle has had enough of the clinch but Laston keeps him there for the moment.
Laston is looking for a takedown.
Handle pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Laston blocks a head kick by Handle.
Handle stuffs the takedown.
Handle has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Handle lands a left and a right that send Laston crashing to the mat, dazed. Handle thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Derrick Laston has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Handle is looking to clinch but Laston is avoiding it.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Laston. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Handle moves in looking to clinch but Laston pushes him off.
Handle clinches with his opponent.
Handle digs a right hand underneath Laston's ribcage. Laston let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Handle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Handle steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Laston is out on his feet! Handle sets himself and nearly takes Laston's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Max Handle!
A relieved looking Max Handle thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
