Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Omar Little (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazushi Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Little's entrance music is Snoop Dogg - Murder was the Case. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Omar Little!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Little fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Little throws a low kick but Sakuraba avoids it.
A head kick misses from Little.
Little throws a leg kick that misses.
Little attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Little is looking to score with low kicks.
Little steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sakuraba.
Omar Little seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Little shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Little fails to land with a series of punches.
Little tries to move into range but Sakuraba moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Little pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sakuraba is out of range and Little settles back down.

Little lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Little motions for Sakuraba to come forward. Little throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Little fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sakuraba.
Little does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Sakuraba avoids a kick to the body.

Sakuraba uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Little.
Little throws out a leg kick but Sakuraba moves out of range and Little only half commits.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sakuraba has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sakuraba checks a leg kick.

Sakuraba ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Little ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sakuraba moves away.

Sakuraba is looking to clinch but Little is avoiding it.
Little looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Little buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Little throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sakuraba's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Little tries to score with a low kick but Sakuraba moves his leg out of the way.
Sakuraba stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Little.
Little misses with a head kick.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sakuraba crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Little - the referee stops the clock and Sakuraba gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Little. Sakuraba manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

and Little counters with a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Sakuraba counters with a shoot takedown. Little fights it but they end up in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Little tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sakuraba trying to control the position from guard on top but Little is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Little is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Little connects with a solid leg kick.
Little dodges the punch combination from Sakuraba.
Little throws a chopping leg kick but Sakuraba manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Little throws a leg kick but Sakuraba checks it.
Sakuraba has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Little.
Good shot there by Sakuraba.
Little feints and then cracks Sakuraba's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sakuraba down.

Little misses the body punch

and Sakuraba counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Little's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Sakuraba winds up and cracks Little with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sakuraba is trying to control the action in half guard but Little is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Little makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Little.

Little lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sakuraba hang on?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Little cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Little looking to control but Sakuraba is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Little has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sakuraba is in all sorts of trouble here.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sakuraba tries to roll over but Little keeps him under control.
Little throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Sakuraba to regain full guard.
Little is looking to work some ground and pound but Sakuraba has wrist control.

Sakuraba is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Little has his hands clasped together but Sakuraba extends and breaks Little's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Sakuraba.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kazushi Sakuraba!
A victorious Kazushi Sakuraba thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
The defeated Omar Little had this to say: 'What an amazing honor! That guy is a living legend and obviously a demon on the ground. I figured this fight was going to end up on the floor so I had to embrace it and try and beat a god at his own game. He got the best of me tonight but I will never forget this experience.'.
