The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Censonis eats them both and turns towards David to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Censonis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. David sprawls well initially but Censonis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
David is looking to improve his position.
Censonis wants to pass to mount but David is defending the position.

Censonis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so David is just riding it out for now. Censonis eventually gives up the hold.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now David is on top in guard.

David won't allow Censonis to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
David tries to stand but Censonis is controlling from the bottom.

Censonis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Censonis is looking for a kimura but David is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Censonis to get the leverage.
David is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
David is controlling Censonis's trapped leg to prevent Censonis from advancing to side control.
David pushes Censonis off looking to stand but Censonis dives back in and keeps control.
David holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
