Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alec Namiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao GuardaChuva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). GuardaChuva is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The rebirth. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alec Namiki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joao GuardaChuva!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Namiki ducks under a wild hook from GuardaChuva.
Namiki throws a quick inside leg kick.
GuardaChuva throws a hook to the side of Namiki's head but Namiki sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

GuardaChuva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Namiki on his heels. He'll look to pass Namiki's guard now, I'm sure.
Namiki working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from GuardaChuva.
GuardaChuva working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
GuardaChuva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
GuardaChuva postures up in Namiki's guard and throws a big left but Namiki blocks it.
GuardaChuva is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Namiki is looking for a triangle here but GuardaChuva uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
GuardaChuva working the head with strikes.

Namiki is trying to get back to half guard.
GuardaChuva works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
GuardaChuva lands an elbow.
Namiki wants to control but GuardaChuva postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
GuardaChuva is working Namiki over with some ground and pound from side control.
GuardaChuva working the ground and pound from side control.
GuardaChuva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Namiki is not content to let GuardaChuva control the position.
Namiki is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked GuardaChuva off and has taken his back!

Will Namiki go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
GuardaChuva told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Alec Namiki has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from GuardaChuva is defended easily by Namiki.
GuardaChuva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
GuardaChuva shoots in and drives through. Namiki sprawls well.
Alec Namiki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joao GuardaChuva.
Namiki fakes the leg kick and cracks GuardaChuva in the body.
GuardaChuva on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Namiki lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
GuardaChuva goes for a double leg but Namiki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Namiki continues to drive forward.
GuardaChuva looks winded!
GuardaChuva takes a knee to the side of the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Namiki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Namiki lands a big head kick that sends GuardaChuva tumbling to the mat! Namiki takes a step backwards and waves GuardaChuva back to his feet - he wants the finish!


GuardaChuva is rocked!


It looks like Joao GuardaChuva has been cut.
We've been told by Namiki's head coaches at Ironfist Athletics that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Namiki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
GuardaChuva is still on wobbly legs! Can Namiki finish him?
Namiki lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as GuardaChuva crumples to the floor! Namiki milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Alec Namiki!
A very excited looking Alec Namiki made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
