Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Amir Hameed!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hameed gets the takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hurst manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hurst desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Hurst landing a few short strikes.
Hurst is positioning himself well to prevent Hameed advancing to mount.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Clay Hurst wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Hurst looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hurst working the head and body with strikes.

Hurst is looking for a kimura but Hameed is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hurst to get the leverage.
Hurst controlling the pace.

Hurst is working for a submission of some sort.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hurst is nestled in close to Hameed, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hurst prevents Hameed from improving his position.
Hurst is controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Clay Hurst wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Hameed tries to keep at a distance but Hurst has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hurst manages to break the clinch.

Hameed shoots in and gets a takedown into Hurst's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hurst is on top in guard.
Hurst seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hameed looks winded!
Hurst's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Clay Hurst wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Hurst looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hameed!
A lull in the action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hurst tries to sprawl but Hameed drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hurst moves into full guard.
Hameed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurst. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hurst manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hameed manages to get himself to full guard.
Hurst sitting in guard here, content to control.
Hurst chips away with some ground and pound.
Hurst is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hameed is breathing heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hurst avoids a kick to the body.
Hurst throws a head kick that misses.
Hameed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hameed is looking to chop away at Hurst's legs.

Hurst closes the distance and clinches.

Hameed decides to pull guard.
Hurst scoring with some ground and pound.
Hameed can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hurst controls the pace.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Clay Hurst has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Hurst drives through and clinches with Hameed against the cage.
Hameed letting Hurst take a breather here.

Hurst breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hurst takes the fight into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Hurst escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hurst blocks a head kick by Hameed.

Hurst has Hameed up against the cage in a clinch.

Hurst breaks from the clinch.

Hameed shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hurst napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hurst is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hurst is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hameed's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hameed's back!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hurst is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Hameed is tapping out! This one is all over!
