Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Baby Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Lamon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Baby Jay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy Lamon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jay drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lamon lands a decent shot there.

Jay drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jay jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lamon looking for a sweep. Not yet Lamon, not yet.
Jay sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lamon's guard.
Lamon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lamon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Lamon manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Jay closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jay is thwarting Lamon's attempts to control the position.
Lamon moves into full guard.
Jay tries to free his leg and advance position but Lamon is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lamon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jay bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Jay wants to control from the top but Lamon keeps moving.
Lamon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jay is one step ahead there.
Lamon is pulling down on Jay's head. It's preventing any offense from Jay, at least for the moment.

Lamon working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jay has passed into half guard!

Lamon is looking for a sweep. Jay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jay is tying to control. Lamon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
It looks like Jay is going to stand back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lamon misses with a takedown attempt
and Jay counters with a solid body kick.
Jay cracks Lamon with an open hand slap.
Jay closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Lamon is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jay.
Jay tries to clinch up but Lamon circles away and keeps his distance.
Lamon throws a sloppy head kick
and Jay counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Lamon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jay trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jay wants to control from the top but Lamon keeps moving.

Lamon throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Jay stands and throws Lamon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lamon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jay asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Jay is looking to take a break and control but Lamon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jay working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baby Jay dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lamon has his takedown stuffed

and Jay counters by clinching up.
Lamon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lamon crunches a lovely knee into Jay's ribcage.
Lamon can't get the takedown.
Baby Jay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Lamon.
Lamon jumps guard but Jay stands there with Lamon around his waist. Lamon gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jay lands an elbow that stopped Lamon in his tracks for a moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jay is on top in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jay passes into half guard.
Jay is looking to take a break and control but Lamon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lamon is pressing down on Jay's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Lamon keeping moving, preventing Jay from controlling successfully.
Jay loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Lamon manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lamon tries to clinch but Jay moves out of range.

Jay fakes the leg kick and cracks Lamon in the body.

and Jay counters with a nice body kick.

Jay shoots in and bounces Lamon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jay slips nicely into half guard.
Lamon punching from the bottom.
Jay tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lamon knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Jay prevents Lamon from improving his position.

Jay seems to be looking for submissions.
Lamon tries to roll over but Jay keeps him under control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jay tries to clinch up but Lamon circles away and keeps his distance.
Lamon misses with a shot to the body

and Jay counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lamon won't be happy with that.
Jay wants to control but Lamon is keeping him busy.
Jay is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lamon's shoulder. That is not cool.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jay tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jay has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lamon regains half guard.
Baby Jay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lamon is pressing down on Jay's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Lamon has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jay off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

so Jay counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jay slips nicely into half guard.
Lamon tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jay connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lamon has his takedown stuffed

and Jay counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lamon won't be happy with that.
Lamon is not content to let Jay control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jay has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Lamon is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Jay yanks on the arm and Lamon is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Jay.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Baby Jay!
