Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hank Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Devlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Devlin has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hank Santiago's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Hank Santiago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Devlin!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago checks a low kick from Devlin.

Devlin rushes Santiago and presses him up against the cage.

Devlin manages to break the clinch.

Devlin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Santiago counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Santiago.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Devlin controls Santiago momentarily but Santiago frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Devlin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Santiago is squirming around, avoiding Devlin's attempts to control the action.

Devlin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Santiago has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Santiago could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Devlin stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Santiago circles away from the clinch attempt.
Santiago dives in and grabs Devlin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Devlin pushes down on Santiago's head and hops out.
Devlin stalks Santiago and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Santiago's face. Santiago staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Hank Santiago has been cut.
Devlin shoots in for a takedown but Santiago shows good takedown defense.

Devlin doesn't manage to clinch there - Santiago circles away.

Santiago tries to clinch but Devlin is having none of it.
Santiago misses with a takedown attempt - Devlin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Devlin throws a low kick but it's checked well by Santiago.

Devlin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Devlin throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Santiago tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Devlin just stands there and leans against the cage.

Devlin seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Devlin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Santiago is fending him off so far but Devlin persists. Nope, Santiago circles away and we're back to standing.

Santiago takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Devlin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Devlin wants it to stay on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Devlin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Santiago keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Devlin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santiago.

and Devlin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Santiago thinking.

Santiago misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santiago is chipping away with strikes.
Devlin misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Devlin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Santiago asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Devlin tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Santiago easily slips into full mount!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hank Santiago.
Well Devlin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
