The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcneil tries to sprawl but Begtrup drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Mcneil kicks off Begtrup and gets to his feet.
Oliver Begtrup seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Begtrup connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mcneil has had enough of the clinch but Begtrup keeps him there for the moment.
Mcneil wants a takedown but no success here.

Mcneil breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mcneil tries to keep at a distance but Begtrup has taken the fight into the clinch.
Begtrup wants to get back to striking at distance but Mcneil won't allow it.

Begtrup manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mcneil on his heels. He'll look to pass Mcneil's guard now, I'm sure.
Begtrup is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mcneil is looking to stand up but Begtrup isn't so interested in that idea.

Mcneil is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Begtrup presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Begtrup has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mcneil regains guard immediately.

Begtrup drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mcneil dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Begtrup is trying to hold Mcneil in close to prevent damage but Mcneil has managed to pass into half guard.
Begtrup is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mcneil decides to stand and escape the position.

Begtrup closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mcneil quickly recovers to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcneil is trying to stand up here but Begtrup is controlling him well.

Mcneil kicks Begtrup off and gets back to his feet.
Begtrup lands a head kick. Mcneil smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Begtrup throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Begtrup drives through and clinches with Mcneil against the cage.

Begtrup pulls guard effortlessly.
Begtrup looks winded!

Begtrup looking for subs off his back but Mcneil has passed one foot through into half guard.
Mcneil drops an elbow to the side of Begtrup's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mcneil decides to stand and escape the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oliver Begtrup dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Oliver Begtrup has got the better of the ground game so far.

Begtrup swings around for an armbar but Mcneil sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Begtrup's guard.
Begtrup lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mcneil!
Mcneil slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Mcneil is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Begtrup's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Begtrup's back!
Begtrup is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
