The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
HC misses with a double jab.
HC throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
HC misses with the combination.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
HC tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

HC shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
HC prevents Jones from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jones looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
HC is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.
Jones tries to roll over but HC keeps him under control.
Jones is trying to control but can't.
HC working the head and body with strikes.
Jones misses with some strikes from the bottom.
HC lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Jones looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Jones is looking to control HC's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
HC misses with a head shot. Jones uses the momentum to regain guard.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jones keeping moving, preventing HC from controlling successfully.
HC trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
HC looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
HC tries to strike from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nice defenses there by Jones.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

R HC dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

HC swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
HC could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
HC is looking for a sweep.

Jones has hold of HC's arm. He's looking for a kimura. HC seems comfortable defending it but Jones has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! HC is real pain and he's forced to tap out! HC is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jones couldn't care less - he's delighted!
