PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Junior Jawo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kok Nos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junior Jawo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kok Nos!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jawo dodges the punch combination from Nos.
Nos throws a series of punches but Jawo moves out of range.
Nos throws a right and a left that Jawo avoids nicely.
Nos throws a series of strikes that have Jawo backpedaling.
Jawo looks for a takedown but Nos sprawls well.

Jawo feints and as Nos raises his hands in defense, Jawo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Jawo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nos manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jawo has Nos in his guard.
Nos trying to control the position from guard on top but Jawo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jawo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nos is working Jawo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Nos trying to control but Jawo is working from the bottom.

Jawo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nos defends well.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nos landing some decent shots from guard.

Nos gets to his feet. Jawo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Nos throws a series of punches but Jawo avoids them all with ease.
Nos throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jawo slips a jab and a cross from Nos.
A combination from Nos does no damage.
Nos looks winded!
Nos lands a slapping body shot.
Nos misses with a few strikes there.
Jawo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jawo dives in for a single leg takedown but Nos sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jawo is trying to pull guard but Nos has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Jawo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jawo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nos's guard.
Jawo tries to free his leg and advance position but Nos is retaining full guard.

Jawo drops back looking for a leg! Nos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nos manages to kick Jawo off! Jawo jumps back into Nos's guard.

Jawo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nos is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jawo, into his guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nos landing with the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jawo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Nos frees his head nicely. Oh but Jawo has switched to an armbar! Nos is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Junior Jawo!
After winning the bout, Junior Jawo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
