Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robo Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Dela Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pope might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ghost - Monstrance Clock. Pope has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Dennis Dela Cruz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Pope throws a sloppy head kick
and Dela Cruz counters with a crisp one two that drops Pope! Dela Cruz thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Pope to his feet! Pope is in big trouble!
Pope looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Robo Pope has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pope swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pope throws a head kick that misses
and Dela Cruz counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Pope badly! Dela Cruz follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Pope out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Dela Cruz finished him against the cage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dennis Dela Cruz!
A pretty intense looking Dennis Dela Cruz took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
