Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ira Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxwell Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ira Stout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maxwell Davis!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stout instigates a clinch.

Davis jumps into guard, dragging Stout to the mat.

Davis wriggles free and stands up.
Davis throws a lazy head kick

and Stout counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Stout is trying to control the action in half guard but Davis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis trying to control here.
Davis tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Stout has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Davis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stout controlling the position easily from mount.
Stout trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Davis gets back to half guard.
Davis wants to get back to full guard.
Davis trying to control from the bottom.
Stout takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Davis wants to get back to his feet.
Davis is trying to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ira Stout wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Davis gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Stout breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Davis clinches.

Davis jumps guard.
Stout trying to control but Davis is working from the bottom.
Stout seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Davis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Davis wants to hit a switch here but Stout passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Davis there!

Davis is desperately trying to improve his position but Stout has a good base and remains in mount.

We're going to have a standup here because Ira Stout wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Davis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Stout wants to control but Davis is keeping busy.
Stout keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Stout tries to get to full guard but Davis has control of the leg.
Stout has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Davis is working away from the top position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Maxwell Davis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Maxwell Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Davis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stout to the mat! Stout manages to get full guard.

Stout had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Davis defends it easily.

Stout escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stout will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Davis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Davis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Stout is taking a breather. Davis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Stout is thwarting Davis's attempts to control the position.
Stout really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Davis moves into the clinch.

Stout escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Davis throws the kick towards the body but Stout avoids it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Davis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Maxwell Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Stout has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Davis wants to sweep but no luck.
Stout wants to stand but Davis is controlling his posture from full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Davis is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Stout dives into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ira Stout.
I think Davis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
