Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Destin Craven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Schelokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Schelokov's choice of entrance music: Sirens . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schelokov blocks a head kick by Craven.
Schelokov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Schelokov's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Schelokov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Craven tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schelokov swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Craven goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Oooooh!!! Schelokov has knocked Craven down with a huge combo! Schelokov steps away and waves a wobbly Craven back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

and Craven counters with a left and a right that stings Schelokov.
Oh Craven is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

A head kick misses from Craven.
Craven tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Schelokov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Schelokov lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Craven can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Schelokov and Craven drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Schelokov.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Schelokov!
A very excited looking Alexander Schelokov made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
