Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerrold Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Tony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerrold Nolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Big Tony!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nolan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Tony shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nolan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Tony won't allow Nolan to sweep him here.

Tony passes Nolan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Tony seems to be looking for submissions.
Nolan is trying to escape back to his feet but Tony uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Tony decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nolan to his feet.

Tony has closed the distance and engaged Nolan in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nolan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tony smiles and moves away.

and Tony counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Nolan!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerrold Nolan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tony stands up and we're back to a striking position.

and Tony counters by clinching up.
Nolan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Tony breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Tony shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nolan is trying to defend but Tony finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Nolan is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tony is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tony in particular looking to stall.
Nolan is pressing down on Tony's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Tony stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nolan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tony seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Tony has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tony's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Big Tony.
Nolan tries for a takedown but Tony sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nolan dives in and grabs Tony's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tony pushes down on Nolan's head and hops out.
Nolan tries to close the distance and clinch but Tony swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tony tries a head kick but it misses.

Tony fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nolan, pushing him back against the cage.

Tony breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tony fails with the takedown.
Nolan darts in looking for a takedown but Tony gets double underhooks and turns Nolan into the cage.
Tony's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tony keeps control of Nolan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Tony gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Nolan is trying to get back to full guard.
Tony is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Tony tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Nolan.
Tony with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Big Tony was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Nolan shoots in looking for a takedown but Tony manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nolan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Big Tony dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Tony forces Nolan back against the cage and clinches.
Nolan tries to pull guard but Tony holds him up against the cage and eventually Nolan drops back down to his feet.

Tony jumps guard and drags Nolan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tony can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nolan throwing strikes but missing.

Tony pushes a forearm under Nolan's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Nolan is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Big Tony!
