Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Borden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarvis Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borden comes into the arena with Im Just Being Honest- Mozzy blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jarvis Brown enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Borden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jarvis Brown!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Borden moves into range and clinches up with Brown.
Borden missing with knees to the body.

Borden breaks from the clinch.
Borden throws a predictable looking body shot
and Brown counters with a three punch combo that has Borden backing up. Borden nods at Brown to acknowledge the strikes.
Borden moves in looking to clinch but Brown pushes him off.
Borden tries to clinch but Brown is having none of it.
Borden tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brown paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Brown leaves Borden with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Borden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brown swivels and escapes.

Borden takes the fight into the clinch.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Borden manages to break the clinch.
Borden tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brown swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Daniel Borden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Borden closes the distance and clinches up with Brown, looking for a takedown. Borden pushes Brown against the cage but Brown circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Brown is trying to drag Borden to the mat but Borden just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Borden lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Brown or not.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Borden is defended easily by Brown.

Borden rushes Brown and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Brown blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Borden will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Brown up against the cage.

Borden is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Brown presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Brown drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Borden dives on top into guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Daniel Borden wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Borden wants to clinch up but Brown keeps it at a distance.
Borden throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.

Borden changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Borden manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Brown counters with a left and a right that stings Borden.

Brown keeps the fight on the outside.

and Brown counters with a two punch combo.
Borden falls off balance throwing a combination
and Brown counters with a three punch combo that has Borden backing up. Borden nods at Brown to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Daniel Borden is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Horrible takedown by Borden or perhaps it was just good defense by Brown which made him look bad.
