PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carl Draiman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacques Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Draiman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacques Gabriel!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draiman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Draiman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Draiman leaves Gabriel with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gabriel shoots in looking for a takedown but Draiman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gabriel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gabriel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Draiman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jacques Gabriel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Gabriel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Carl Draiman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Draiman does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carl Draiman.
I think Gabriel has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
