Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shirley Spears (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Shirley Spears!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Will Smith!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Francis DeMontford and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith has taken the fight to the clinch.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Smith has eaten all the pies!

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Smith forces Spears back against the cage and clinches.

Smith pulls guard successfully.
Smith seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Spears really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith wants to sweep but no luck.
Smith looking to control.
Smith wants to sweep here but Spears controlling him for the moment.

Smith looking for a guillotine here but Spears defends easily.
Spears controlling from the top position.
Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Spears wants to stand but Smith is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Spears looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Smith rushes Spears and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Smith has picked Spears up - he's going for a ride! Smith dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Spears's temple.
Spears is looking to control Smith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Spears avoid being mounted?
Smith looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Spears is trying to control but can't.
Smith perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Spears defending well though.

Smith is keen to just control but Spears is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Smith blocks the body kick.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Spears shows good takedown defense.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spears looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Smith chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Spears can pounce on him.

and Spears connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Smith wants to stall.
Spears stops a takedown attempt from Smith.
Shirley Spears has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Smith.
Smith looks winded!

Smith breaks the clinch.

Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Spears moves out of range easily.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Spears sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Spears fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it.
Spears wants to clinch.
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spears swivels and escapes.
Spears misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Spears throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Spears shoots in and bounces Smith off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Spears wants to stand but Smith has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Spears looking to sit in guard and control but Smith gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Smith stands up and waves to Spears to follow him.
Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spears looks for a takedown but Smith sprawls well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spears throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Smith.

Smith looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Smith wants to stand up but Spears is controlling the position.
Smith is thwarting Spears's attempts to control the position.
Spears looks like he's trying to stand up.
Spears is not content to let Smith control the position.
Spears wants to control but Smith is keeping busy.

Smith is working for a submission of some sort.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Smith in particular looking to stall.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Smith scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Smith is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spears wants to control but Smith is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Spears knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Spears is looking for a sweep. Smith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Smith prevents Spears from standing back up.
Spears is in trouble now - Smith has advanced to mount!
Smith lands a nice shot to the head.
Spears tries to hold on but Smith postures up.
Spears is in all sorts of trouble here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Spears is rocked!
Smith connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Oh Spears is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith drops a big elbow. That's hurt Spears! More shots from Smith and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
