The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El Guapo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Liddel.
Liddel stalks El Guapo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into El Guapo's face. El Guapo staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Conchito El Guapo has been cut.
El Guapo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
El Guapo blocks a head kick by Liddel.
El Guapo checks the leg kick nicely there.
El Guapo is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Liddel.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Liddel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Liddel drops El Guapo with a right and a left! Liddel comes rushing in but El Guapo regains his composure and manages to keep Liddel in guard.
El Guapo is rocked!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Liddel controls from within his opponent's guard.
El Guapo is still in real trouble! Can Liddel finish him?
Liddel stands and steps away. El Guapo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Liddel and El Guapo are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Liddel throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking El Guapo into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Liddel knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Chuck Liddel!
