PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Nakai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexsandr Chlemenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chlemenko has chosen Небо Славян as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenji Nakai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexsandr Chlemenko!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nakai gets tackled into the cage by Chlemenko. Chlemenko maintains the clinch.
Nakai takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Kenji Nakai has been cut.
Chlemenko tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nakai wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chlemenko has him pressed against the cage.
Nakai is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Chlemenko has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nakai regains guard immediately.

Nakai has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Chlemenko is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Nakai tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chlemenko drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nakai gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Nakai is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Nakai is trying to keep Chlemenko in close.
Nakai is pulling down on Chlemenko's head. It's preventing any offense from Chlemenko, at least for the moment.

Kenji Nakai has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Chlemenko is looking to clinch.

Chlemenko goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Chlemenko wants to clinch up but Nakai keeps it at a distance.
Chlemenko tries to close the distance and clinch but Nakai swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kenji Nakai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexsandr Chlemenko.

Nakai clinches up with Chlemenko and pushes him back against the cage.
Nakai stalls.
Chlemenko has Nakai pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Nakai manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Nakai drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Nakai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Nakai jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chlemenko walks away with a smile on his face. Nakai gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nakai swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nakai misses with a two punch combination.

and Chlemenko counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Nakai is looking to control Chlemenko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nakai avoid being mounted?
Nakai is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nakai misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Nakai tries to get to full guard but Chlemenko has control of the leg.
Nakai blocking the ground and pound attempt from Chlemenko.

Nakai is looking for a sweep. Chlemenko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nakai wants to control but Chlemenko is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Nakai tries to roll over but Chlemenko keeps him under control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chlemenko not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alexsandr Chlemenko will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Kenji Nakai's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Chlemenko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nakai circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Nakai. No joy for Chlemenko on that attempt.
Nakai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nakai wants it to stay on the feet.
Kenji Nakai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexsandr Chlemenko.
Nakai tries to clinch but Chlemenko is having none of it.

Nakai defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chlemenko.
Chlemenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Nakai swats away the attempt to clinch by Chlemenko.
Nakai changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chlemenko tries to avoid it but Nakai manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chlemenko to the ground. Chlemenko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nakai shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chlemenko's guard.

Nakai looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kenji Nakai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Nakai is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Chlemenko!
Chlemenko wants to hold on but Nakai pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chlemenko tries to buck Nakai off but he can't manage it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chlemenko is breathing heavily.
Nakai sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Nakai lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Chlemenko hang on?

Chlemenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nakai has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Nakai fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Chlemenko is desperately trying to improve his position but Nakai has a good base and remains in mount.

Nakai has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nakai with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's time! Nakai's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Chlemenko gets a clinch.
Chlemenko lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Nakai.
Chlemenko lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Nakai manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Nakai is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nakai tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Nakai manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chlemenko manages to get himself to full guard.

Nakai stands up and waves to Chlemenko to follow him.
Nakai really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chlemenko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nakai is fending him off so far but Chlemenko persists. Nope, Nakai circles away and we're back to standing.

Nakai fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chlemenko avoids it really well and circles away.
Horrible takedown by Chlemenko or perhaps it was just good defense by Nakai which made him look bad.

Nakai decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Chlemenko, up you get!

Chlemenko is trying to force a seperation but Nakai has the dominant position.
Nakai tries to pull guard but Chlemenko holds him up against the cage and eventually Nakai drops back down to his feet.

Chlemenko is fighting off a takedown attempt but Nakai is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Chlemenko to the mat. Chlemenko regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Chlemenko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nakai controls the pace.
Nakai wants to pass the guard but Chlemenko is keeping the position.

Chlemenko looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Nakai puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Nakai decides to return to a standing position.
Chlemenko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nakai dives in and grabs Chlemenko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chlemenko pushes down on Nakai's head and hops out.

Nakai shoots in and gets a takedown into Chlemenko's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alexsandr Chlemenko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Nakai avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kenji Nakai showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Nakai has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
