Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michal Kucharski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takeshi Watanabe!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watanabe gets caught flat footed, as Kucharski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Watanabe can do anything to dispel that myth.
Watanabe wants to sweep but no luck.
Watanabe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kucharski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kucharski is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Watanabe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kucharski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kucharski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kucharski wants to control from the top but Watanabe keeps moving.

Watanabe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kucharski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kucharski drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Kucharski seems to have locked his on tight now - Watanabe screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Kucharski, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Michal Kucharski!
Michal Kucharski was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
