Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gator Bait (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Estie Langlaise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Langlaise has chosen Pepe et sa guitare Le mangeux de bine as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gator Bait!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Estie Langlaise!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langlaise tries to bum rush Bait with a series of wild strikes but Bait uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bait keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Langlaise.
Langlaise fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Langlaise uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bait walks into a stiff left hand from Langlaise.
Langlaise swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A big right from Langlaise misses.
Langlaise throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bait sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Langlaise is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bait.

Bait feints and as Langlaise raises his hands in defense, Bait changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Langlaise wants to sweep here but Bait controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Bait's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Langlaise tries to close the distance and clinch but Bait swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Langlaise jabs Bait right on the nose. Bait blinks but takes it well.

and Bait counters with a three punch combo that has Langlaise backing up. Langlaise nods at Bait to acknowledge the strikes.

Langlaise connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bait's hands.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bait. Langlaise does a little dance to reset his feet.

Langlaise looks to throw the jab but Bait is out of range.
Langlaise uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bait.
Langlaise lands a lovely overhand right.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Langlaise takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Gator Bait wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

No joy there for Langlaise, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Langlaise uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bait has time to react.

Estie Langlaise seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bait bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Langlaise is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Our spies down at at Gentlemanly Scholars Fight Club Gym(4 Sprbt 4*+)(1 inform us that Langlaise has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gator Bait.
