Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mingi Tyyp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jan Egeland!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyyp goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Tyyp jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.


Egeland is rocked!
Tyyp throws a head kick that misses.
Egeland is still on wobbly legs! Can Tyyp finish him?
Tyyp swinging wildly here.
Tyyp throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tyyp tries a head kick but it misses.
Tyyp throws a hook to the side of Egeland's head but Egeland sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Egeland seems to have recovered his senses.
Tyyp will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Egeland has closed the distance and engaged Tyyp in a clinch.

Egeland successfully pulls guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Egeland is looking for a triangle but Tyyp pushes his legs off easily.
Tyyp trying to control but Egeland is working from the bottom.
Egeland avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Egeland controlling the position.
Tyyp stays in close to Egeland's body and controls the position.
Egeland not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mingi Tyyp wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Egeland scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tyyp doesn't seem bothered though.

Egeland bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Egeland wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tyyp, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tyyp is looking to reverse the position.

Egeland is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tyyp is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Egeland is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tyyp has escaped the position, nice work there.
Tyyp on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tyyp tries to get out of the position.

Egeland looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Egeland cracks Tyyp with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Egeland tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Egeland has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Egeland working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Tyyp is looking to regain half guard here but Egeland keeps moving and retains side control.
Egeland looks up at the clock and then as Tyyp takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Egeland smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Tyyp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Egeland on the ground.

Egeland has hold of Tyyp's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tyyp seems comfortable defending it but Egeland has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tyyp is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tyyp is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Egeland couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jan Egeland!
