Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Steinar Sting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Lansing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lansing is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Heavy Metal Kings. Steinar Sting had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lansing takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sting moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sting misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lansing.
Lansing thows a body shot but no joy.
Lansing pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Sting with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lansing to score with a decent uppercut.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Sting cracks Lansing with a right hand to the side of the head.

Lansing bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sting's head.

Sting throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Lansing works Sting's body with a nice hook.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Sting!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sting crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lansing - the referee stops the clock and Sting gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lansing. Sting manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

and Lansing counters with a takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lansing is putting a hurting on Sting here, landing some big shots from side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lansing creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Sting takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Lansing tries to score with some ground and pound. Sting controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Sting is looking to regain half guard here but Lansing keeps moving and retains side control.
Lansing postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lansing working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Sting might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lansing working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Sting parries the strikes from Lansing easily there. Lansing is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sting to escape.

Lansing throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Sting takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lansing keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Lansing darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Sting stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lansing.

Lansing decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sting is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Lansing has his hands clasped together but Sting extends and breaks Lansing's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Sting.
