PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill Hayze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randolph Malkier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randolph Malkier told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bill Hayze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Randolph Malkier!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malkier lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Bill Hayze has been cut.
Hayze throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Malkier sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Malkier fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hayze sizes up Malkier with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hayze misses with a jab, cross combination.
Malkier connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Malkier throws a body kick that misses.
Malkier takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed right hand from Hayze misses the target.
Malkier looks to land a left hand but Hayze moved out of range nicely.
Malkier misses the shot to the body.
Hayze ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
The fighters circling - Malkier throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Malkier thuds a left hand into Hayze's body.
Hayze scores with a one two! Malkier had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Malkier tries a head kick but it misses.
Malkier swings away with a body shot that misses
and Hayze counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hayze throws a shot to the body.
Malkier looks winded!
Hayze comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hayze cracks a nice hook into Malkier's ribs.
Malkier ducks right into an uppercut from Hayze.
Randolph Malkier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Malkier misses with a straight right.
Malkier on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Malkier tries to land a leg kick but Hayze saw it coming and moves away.
Malkier throws a series of punches but Hayze moves out of range.
Hayze connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Malkier's hands.

It looks like Randolph Malkier has been cut.

Hayze drops Malkier with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Malkier looks back up at him and smiles so Hayze waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Malkier is rocked!
Hayze moves in close and cracks Malkier with a massive right hand! Malkier, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Hayze!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bill Hayze!
In his post fight interview, Bill Hayze started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
