Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kuiskaaja Rajala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gros Jambon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuiskaaja Rajala has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kuiskaaja Rajala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gros Jambon!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Jambon looks to land a right hand but Rajala moved out of range.
Jambon tries to clinch there but Rajala circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rajala uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jambon.
Jambon closes the distance but Rajala moves to the side

and Rajala counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jambon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rajala is one step ahead there.

Rajala decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jambon stuffs the takedown attempt from Rajala. Rajala gets slowly back to his feet.
Jambon does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jambon is looking to chop away at Rajala's legs.
Jambon waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rajala.
Gros Jambon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jambon pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rajala is out of range and Jambon settles back down.
Jambon throws out a leg kick but Rajala moves out of range and Jambon only half commits.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jambon wants to clinch up but Rajala keeps it at a distance.
The fighters circling - Jambon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rajala shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jambon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rajala.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kuiskaaja Rajala will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Rajala.
Jambon throws a leg kick but Rajala checks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rajala swats away the attempt to clinch by Jambon.
Rajala fails with a takedown attempt.

Jambon swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Rajala counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Rajala stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Rajala keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Horrible takedown by Rajala or perhaps it was just good defense by Jambon which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kuiskaaja Rajala. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rajala blocks a low kick nicely.
Rajala fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rajala shoots in but Jambon avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rajala shoots for a takedown but Jambon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jambon throws a leg kick but Rajala moved away.
Jambon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jambon throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Rajala counters with a single leg into guard. Jambon didn't expect that.
We've been hearing good reports from Rajala's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Jambon controls Rajala momentarily but Rajala frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kuiskaaja Rajala dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Jambon fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rajala checks it well.
Kuiskaaja Rajala is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rajala keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Rajala fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Jambon finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jambon tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Rajala decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jambon's guard.
Gros Jambon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jambon wants to stand but Rajala is controlling the position.
Jambon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rajala checks the leg kick nicely there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jambon swings for the body but Rajala moves out of range.
Rajala shoots in looking for a takedown but Jambon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rajala's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jambon swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Rajala counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jambon won't be happy with that.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jambon is looking to reverse the position.
Jambon can't do much from the bottom here.
We've been informed that Jambon has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Jambon isn't going anywhere.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jambon is looking for a sweep.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kuiskaaja Rajala.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rajala, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
