Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Marbury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Przemos Dipps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben Marbury has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben Marbury!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Przemos Dipps!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marbury throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dipps was covering up waiting for the punch and Marbury finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Dipps working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marbury doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marbury manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Marbury stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dipps swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Marbury has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Dipps is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Marbury tries to free his leg and advance position but Dipps is retaining full guard.
Dipps can't keep his opponent in guard - Marbury advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Marbury is thwarting Dipps's attempts to control the position.
Dipps tries to get to full guard but Marbury has control of the leg.

Marbury is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Dipps is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marbury looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Dipps is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Marbury has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dipps is pressing down on Marbury's thigh, looking to free his foot. Marbury is holding on for now.

Dipps is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marbury defends it well.
Dipps should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Dipps trying to advance position but Marbury counters by regaining guard.

Marbury is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dipps is aware though and is defending well.

Dipps drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Marbury manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dipps has Marbury in his guard.
Marbury throws a big elbow that misses.
Marbury trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Marbury drops back looking for a leg! Dipps is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dipps manages to kick Marbury off! Marbury jumps back into Dipps's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dipps looking for a sweep. Not yet Dipps, not yet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dipps is on top in guard.
Dipps looking to pass the guard.
Dipps passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Dipps goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Marbury has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dipps but great work by Marbury.

Marbury tries for a kimura but Dipps is defending well.
Dipps gets back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Marbury is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dipps sees it coming and defends easily.
Dipps wants to improve his position but Marbury is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marbury passes to side control.
Marbury wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dipps keeps working.
Dipps wants to control but Marbury postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dipps is looking to reverse the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Marbury controlling the position from side mount.
Marbury will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Marbury trying to control the position but Dipps is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Przemos Dipps will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Dipps clinches up with Marbury and pushes him back against the cage.

Dipps pulls Marbury into guard.
Marbury pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dipps is keeping the position for now.
Dipps looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marbury is one step ahead there.

Dipps has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marbury can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Marbury trying to control the position from guard on top but Dipps is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marbury looking to pass the guard.

Dipps looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Marbury passes into half guard.

Dipps is concentrating on defense, preventing Marbury from advancing position.
Marbury is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Dipps!
Dipps sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Dipps trying to control but Marbury postures up.
Marbury trying to control from half guard but Dipps is working away.
Marbury working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Marbury moves nicely into side control.
Marbury is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Marbury trying to control the position but Dipps is working away.
Dipps is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Marbury's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dipps is defending against the submission attempts here by Marbury.
Dipps gets back to full guard.

Dipps throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Dipps bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marbury's guard.

Marbury is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Marbury is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dipps postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Marbury is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dipps, into his guard.
Dipps is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Marbury won't allow Dipps to sweep him here.
Marbury wants to control from the top but Dipps keeps moving.
Marbury is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Dipps looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Marbury has picked Dipps up and slammed him! Dipps can't keep hold of the triangle and Marbury manages to pass to side control!
Dipps is trying to control Marbury's posture but Marbury avoids it.
Marbury wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dipps keeps working.
Dipps tries to get back to half guard but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marbury works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Przemos Dipps will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Dipps drives through with a takedown into Marbury's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Dipps slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Przemos Dipps has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dipps has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Marbury is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Dipps yanks on the arm and Marbury is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Dipps.
