The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kota looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Verceti!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Verceti tries to escape but Kota is in control.
Kota landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Kota creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

It looks like Tommy Verceti has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Kota connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Verceti some visible discomfort.
