Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vasiliy Shishkanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shishkanov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Digital Farm Animals - Home. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vasiliy Shishkanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Devon King!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
King with a lazy takedown attempt

King shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shishkanov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ground and pound from King seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
King wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shishkanov keeps working.
Shishkanov is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Shishkanov is trying to control King's posture but King avoids it.
King scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Shishkanov to see if he's OK.

King tries to roll but Shishkanov sticks to his back.
Shishkanov is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Shishkanov gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Shishkanov gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Shishkanov apologises and we restart here on the feet.

King dives in for a single leg takedown but Shishkanov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
King is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shishkanov pulls him back up using the underhooks.

King changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Shishkanov fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A close round but Devon King will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

King has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Shishkanov seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if King can turn it around.

King has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shishkanov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vasiliy Shishkanov will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


No joy there for Shishkanov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fighters circle momentarily. King darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
King uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shishkanov.
King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shishkanov but Shishkanov pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shishkanov takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Shishkanov lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Shishkanov, as that shot connected.

King shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shishkanov sprawls well. Shishkanov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. King gets slowly back to his feet.

King pushes Shishkanov off and gets back to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vasiliy Shishkanov.
