Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Robert Christian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dunts McClain!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McClain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Christian wants to stand and escape but McClain is having none of it.
Christian is controlling McClain's posture.

Christian escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McClain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Christian is adopting a defensive guard.
Christian wants to control but McClain passes easily into half guard.
Christian is trying to stand.
Christian works his way to full guard. Good work.
Christian trying to control the position.
Christian wants to stand up but McClain is controlling him.

Christian trying to keep a closed guard but McClain is proving a slippery customer.
McClain throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Christian working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McClain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McClain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McClain is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dunts McClain hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

McClain gets a clinch.

McClain is trying to trip Christian. He has hold of a leg but Christian is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. McClain persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

McClain stands up from Christian's guard - McClain perhaps looking for a knockout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McClain closes the distance and pushes Christian back into the cage.

McClain turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McClain manages to end up in side control.
Christian bucks up and tries to throw McClain off but instead McClain has got his back!
McClain is hanging on to Christian's back as he tries to escape.

Christian covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Christian controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
McClain keeps control of the position as Christian tries to break free.

McClain working for a choke but Christian is defending well.
McClain slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Christian trying to control the action but McClain just sinks the hooks in.
Christian rolls, trying to escape but McClain keeps control of the position.

McClain has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Christian trying to control the position but McClain manages to sink in the hooks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Christian's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



McClain lands a left and a right that send Christian crashing to the mat, dazed. McClain thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Robert Christian has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McClain shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Christian is trying to defend but McClain finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Christian has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McClain is working away from the top position though.
McClain is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Christian is looking to control McClain's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Christian avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Robert Christian.

Excellent takedown into side control there by McClain.
Dunts McClain has got the better of the ground game so far.

McClain is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Christian knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Christian tries to escape but McClain is in control.
McClain in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

McClain tries for a kimura but Christian is defending well.
McClain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Christian keeps working.

Christian struggling a bit here.
McClain moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Christian prevents McClain from improving position.
Christian wants to control but McClain postures up.
Christian is trying to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McClain trying to control the action but Christian is working from the bottom.

McClain decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Christian shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McClain but McClain pushes him off and we're back to square one.

McClain drives through with a takedown into guard.
McClain prevents Christian from getting back to his feet.

Christian working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because McClain has passed into half guard!

McClain looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
McClain controlling the pace for now.
Christian is desperately trying to improve his position but McClain has a good base and remains in mount.

McClain jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Christian manages to avoid the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Christian wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dunts McClain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Robert Christian's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


McClain feints a jab promting Christian to slip. McClain then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Christian slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
McClain lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McClain.
McClain throws a head kick that misses.
McClain tries a head kick but it misses.

McClain dives in and scores a takedown into Christian's guard.
McClain tries to free his leg and advance position but Christian is retaining full guard.

Christian working for a triangle but McClain defends it easily.

Christian is looking for a triangle but McClain pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Christian throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! McClain escapes and throws Christian's legs to the side, diving into side control!
McClain has control of an arm but Christian manages to advance to McClain's back!
McClain trying to control the hands but Christian breaks the grip.

Christian is really struggling to control McClain but he's trying to hold on to the position.








The ref stands the fighters back up. Robert Christian wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Christian looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

McClain closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Christian to the mat! Christian manages to get full guard.
Christian has McClain pulled in close to control his posture.

Christian has an active guard here but McClain has managed to pass into half guard.
McClain tries to pass the half guard into mount. Christian knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Christian is trying to maintain the position but McClain is very close to passing his half guard.

Christian manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. McClain keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

McClain has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Christian clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
McClain is looking to control Christian but Christian is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Christian tries to escape the position.
Christian looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Christian trying to control the action but McClain just sinks the hooks in.

McClain tightening his grip on Christian, looking for the choke.
McClain biding his time, looking for the opening.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Christian is trying to get back to his feet but McClain has full control of the position and if anything, Christian has just worked his way into a worse spot.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Robert Christian.
I think McClain has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
