Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Eric Angle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jed Country!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angle looks to land a combination but Country avoids it well.
Angle shoots in and drives through. Country sprawls well.
Jab by Angle.
Angle with a nice cross.
Angle misses with a body kick.
The fighters circling - Angle throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Country moves out of range of the body kick.
Angle fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Angle gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Angle wants a takedown but no success here.

Country avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Angle is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Angle wants to get back to his feet but Country is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Angle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Country counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jed Country is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Country displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Angle.
Angle wants to clinch up but Country keeps it at a distance.

Angle throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Country was covering up waiting for the punch and Angle finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Angle pushes down on Country's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Angle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Angle is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Angle is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Country gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Angle to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Country manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Angle prevents any damage by holding on tight.

Angle wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Eric Angle just wasn't active enough.
Country swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Angle fails with the takedown.

Angle dives in and scores a takedown into Country's guard.

Angle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Country wants to stand but Angle is controlling the position.

Angle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Angle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Angle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Angle is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Country throws an overhand right that lands on Angle's shoulder, as Angle tries to avoid the shot.
Country has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Country is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Angle.
Angle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Angle slips a straight right by Country.
Angle dives in and grabs Country's left leg, looking for a takedown. Country pushes down on Angle's head and hops out.

Eric Angle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Country takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Angle shoots in but Country avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Eric Angle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Angle's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well Angle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
