Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Warren Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Friendly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Warren Obrien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Friendly!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obrien takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


It looks like Warren Obrien has been cut.

Friendly takes the fight into the clinch.

Friendly successfully pulls guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Friendly not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Friendly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Obrien decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Friendly misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Friendly tries for a takedown but Obrien sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Obrien feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Friendlys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Obrien counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Obrien wanted to stand there but Friendly had control of the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Friendly has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Obrien is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Obrien pulls guard successfully.
Friendly must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Obrien is striking but Friendly is not phased and passes to half guard.
Obrien works his way to full guard. Good work.
Friendly has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Obrien is proving hard to escape from.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Obrien has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Friendly is on him like a limpet, forcing Obrien back against the cage.

Obrien stops a takedown attempt from Friendly.
Obrien tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Obrien is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Obrien is working for takedown but Friendly is calmly controlling the position for now.

Friendly manages to pull guard.
Obrien is looking to work some ground and pound but Friendly has wrist control.
Friendly trying to keep a closed guard but Obrien is proving a slippery customer.
Obrien throwing strikes but missing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Friendly manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That was a close round but I would say that Warren Obrien will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Friendly throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Obrien's waist but Obrien gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Friendly off to one side.
Some bone on bone action there as Obrien checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Friendly tries to score a power double leg takedown but Obrien sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Friendly somewhat.
Obrien keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Warren Obrien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Friendly.

Friendly gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Friendly is breathing heavily.

Obrien stands up and waves to Friendly to follow him.

Friendly working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Obrien has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Obrien kicks Friendly off and gets back to his feet.

Obrien decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Obrien tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Friendly just stands there and leans against the cage.

Friendly wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Obrien decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Obrien shoots in but Friendly avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Obrien tries to pull guard but Friendly forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Friendly looking to stall.
Obrien stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Friendly manages to break the clinch.
Friendly stalks Obrien and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Obrien's face. Obrien staggers backwards, shaken.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Obrien is trying to drag Friendly to the mat but Friendly just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

That was a close second round but I would say that Warren Obrien will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Friendly goes for a double leg but Obrien avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Obrien continues to drive forward.

Friendly blocks an elbow strike from Obrien.
Friendly tries to circle away but Obrien has him pinned against the cage.
Obrien tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Friendly just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Warren Obrien. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Friendly breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Friendly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Obrien shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Friendly defends it nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Friendly moves into range and clinches up with Obrien.

Obrien jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Friendly walks away with a smile on his face. Obrien gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Obrien tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Friendly smiles and moves away.
Friendly fails to land the takedown.

Obrien drags the fight down to the ground.
Friendly trying to control the position from guard on top but Obrien is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Friendly slips nicely into half guard.
Friendly seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Obrien does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Friendly controlling the pace.
Friendly is looking to take a break and control but Obrien is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Friendly wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Obrien uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Friendly sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Obrien wants to get back to his feet but Friendly is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bob Friendly wasn't active enough on the ground.

Obrien is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Friendly clinches with his opponent.
Friendly tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Obrien jumps guard but Friendly stands there with Obrien around his waist. Obrien gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Obrien has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Friendly clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Friendly rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bob Friendly comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Obrien has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
