Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Graig Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Neese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Graig Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Warren Neese!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neese throws a right hand that Cook ducks under and follows up with a left that Cook also avoids with ease.

Neese shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Neese was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cook is looking for a sweep.

Neese working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Cook tries to buck Neese off but Neese is having none of it.
Neese is looking to take a break and control but Cook is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neese might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cook haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Neese looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Cook tries to improve position but can't.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Neese wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cook, who protects the arm well.

Neese is looking to take a break and control but Cook is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neese is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cook doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Neese.

Neese is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cook is just riding it out for now. Neese eventually gives up the hold.
Cook wants to control but Neese is keeping busy.
Cook manages to get to full guard.

Cook working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Neese doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Neese manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cook keeping moving, preventing Neese from controlling successfully.
Cook looking to control.
Neese stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cook swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cook lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Neese!
Neese tries to hold on but Cook postures up.
Neese is trying desperately to improve position.

Cook manages to capitalize on a mistake by Neese to take his back!
Cook trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Neese tries to escape but Cook has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cook keeps control of the position easily here as Neese tries to buck him off.

A close round but Warren Neese will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cook moves forwards but Neese connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Graig Cook is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Neese drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Cook is trying to keep Neese in close.
Cook wants to sweep but no luck.
Neese trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Cook looking to hit a scissor sweep but Neese is one step ahead there.

Cook really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Neese fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cook sprawls well initially but Neese persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neese stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cook swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neese drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cook manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Neese has Cook in his guard.
Cook is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Graig Cook has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Neese drives through with a takedown into Cook's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Cook seems keen to control Neese's posture.
Neese trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cook manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Neese bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cook's guard.
Cook will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Neese wants to control from the top but Cook keeps moving.
Neese has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cook is proving hard to escape from.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Warren Neese showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Neese wants to pass to mount but Cook is defending the position.

Neese decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Neese is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cook defends it well.

Cook regains full guard. Nicely done.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Neese is pushing down on Cook's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cook is fighting to maintain full guard but Neese has managed to sneak the leg through.
Neese seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cook does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neese is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cook will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Cook seems a little lost for a moment, as Neese dominates the positioning.

Warren Neese has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cook enables Neese to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cook manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Cook trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Warren Neese was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Neese feints and as Cook raises his hands in defense, Neese changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Neese has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
