PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tigo Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kisuke Urahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kisuke Urahara told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kisuke Urahara!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Alves. Those never looked like landing.

Alves has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Urahara keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Alves's efforts to push away.

Urahara throws a series of punches but Alves moves out of range.

Alves fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Urahara on the side of the head.
Alves misses with a few strikes there.
Urahara jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Alves throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Urahara.
Urahara fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alves has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Alves swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Urahara connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Urahara is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alves.
Alves throws a nice looking combination but Urahara bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Urahara thows a body shot but no joy.
Alves throws a right hand that Urahara ducks under and follows up with a left that Urahara also avoids with ease.

Urahara has Alves pressed against the cage, preventing Alves from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Urahara will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Alves up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Alves's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Urahara digs a right hand underneath Alves's ribcage. Alves let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Kisuke Urahara looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'KO, KO another KO. Keep them coming, prospects, vets, whatever bring them on and I'll knock you out.'.
