Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sheldon Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cooper gets a double leg takedown into Shamrock's guard.
Cooper stands and throws Shamrock's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Shamrock tries to bench press Cooper off him but Cooper keeps the position.
Shamrock has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Shamrock wants to control but Cooper postures up.

Cooper is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shamrock is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Shamrock is not content to let Cooper control the position.

Cooper tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cooper has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cooper tries for a kimura but Shamrock is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shamrock tries to buck Cooper off but Cooper is having none of it.
Shamrock is not content to let Cooper control the position.
Shamrock is looking for a sweep.
Shamrock can't do much from the bottom here.
Shamrock is looking for a sweep.
Cooper tries to move to mount but Shamrock blocks the move with his legs.
Shamrock is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Cooper is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Cooper is working for a kimura but Shamrock is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shamrock landing strikes from the bottom.
Shamrock is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Cooper is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shamrock is just riding it out for now. Cooper eventually gives up the hold.
Shamrock wants to improve his position but Cooper is controlling well.

Cooper is working for a submission of some sort.
Cooper stops Shamrock from getting back to his feet.

Cooper is working for a kimura but Shamrock is defending it quite comfortably.
Cooper is trying to control the action in half guard but Shamrock is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cooper stops Shamrock from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cooper wants to take a breather but Shamrock is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sheldon Cooper hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cooper tries to close the distance and clinch but Shamrock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shamrock drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Cooper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shamrock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sheldon Cooper dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Cooper is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shamrock has managed to free his arm - good work.
Shamrock pushes Cooper off looking to stand but Cooper dives back in and keeps control.

Shamrock throws his legs up looking for a submission but Cooper uses it to pass to side control.

Cooper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shamrock knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Shamrock has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Cooper escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Cooper!

Cooper swings around for an armbar but Shamrock sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cooper's guard.
Shamrock distracts Cooper with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shamrock wants to control from the top but Cooper keeps moving.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cooper holds on and takes a little breather.
Shamrock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Shamrock trying to control the position from guard on top but Cooper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cooper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shamrock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shamrock lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Shamrock throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cooper works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Shamrock trying to control but Cooper is working from the bottom.
Shamrock has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Shamrock stands up over Cooper, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Cooper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shamrock's guard.
Shamrock is looking to stand back up but Cooper counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Shamrock.
Shamrock is trying to stand back up but Cooper is controlling him
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cooper wants to control but Shamrock is keeping him busy.
Shamrock is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cooper's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cooper's back!

Shamrock has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Cooper has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Frank Shamrock will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Cooper bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cooper is looking to take a break and control but Shamrock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cooper has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Shamrock!
Cooper wants to control the pace but Shamrock is squirming around nicely.

Shamrock tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Shamrock looks to move to half guard but instead Cooper has passed into mount! Damn!

Shamrock wants to control but Cooper is having none of it.
Shamrock is working to get back to half guard.

Cooper can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shamrock is looking to escape.

Shamrock wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Shamrock defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Cooper's arms.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cooper keeps control of the position as Shamrock tries to break free.

Shamrock is trying to stand back up.
Cooper tries to keep control of the position but Shamrock is staying busy.

Shamrock is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cooper gets his way!

Shamrock is trying to get back to his feet but Cooper has full control of the position and if anything, Shamrock has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Shamrock manages to reverse the position and now he's in Cooper's guard. Nice work there by Shamrock.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shamrock postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cooper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shamrock is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cooper is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cooper is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sheldon Cooper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cooper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
