Thorenborn feints and as Santiago raises his hands in defense, Thorenborn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Thorenborn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Santiago is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Santiago has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thorenborn wants to sweep here but Santiago controlling him for the moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Garry Thorenborn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thorenborn. Santiago does a little dance to reset his feet.

Thorenborn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Thorenborn lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Santiago quite badly. Santiago pulls Thorenborn in close trying to recover. Thorenborn postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Santiago on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Santiago doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
