PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pete Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winston Wyrm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doherty comes into the arena with Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites blaring out of the sound system. Wyrm has chosen Don't Tread by Damn Yankees as his entrance music. Pete Doherty has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wyrm gets a clinch.
Doherty lands with a short shot to the head.

Doherty breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Doherty cracks Wyrm with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Wyrm has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A slapping body kick lands there for Doherty.

Doherty fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wyrm, pushing him back against the ropes.
Wyrm can't get the takedown.
Wyrm is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Doherty is defending well for now.
Wyrm has a couple of punches blocked by Doherty.
Doherty works on Wyrm's body with a couple of short punches.
Doherty lands a nice uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wyrm tightens his grip and picks Doherty up, before dumping him to the ground. Doherty manages to land in guard.

Doherty is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Doherty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wyrm doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wyrm manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wyrm trying to control the position from guard on top but Doherty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wyrm postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Wyrm with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Doherty trying to keep a closed guard but Wyrm is proving a slippery customer.

Doherty is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wyrm is aware though and is defending well.

Doherty looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Wyrm is defending well. Doherty quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Wyrm has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Doherty celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.

After winning the bout, Pete Doherty thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
