PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Caraan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Nader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caraan comes to the cage accompanied by TubThumping(I get Knockdown). Nader is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: This Means War. On his way into the cage it seems that Cedric Caraan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Cedric Caraan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nader fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Caraan sprawls well initially but Nader persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Nader wants to stand up but Caraan has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Nader seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nader in particular looking to stall.

Nader has Caraan pressed against the cage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nader has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Nader is trying to trip Caraan. He has hold of a leg but Caraan is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Nader persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Caraan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Nader tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Caraan paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nader shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Caraan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Caraan is working an open guard so Nader takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Nader tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nader looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nader uses his free foot to push down on Caraan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Caraan.

Nader can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Caraan is looking to escape.

Nader is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Caraan is surviving well by controlling Nader's body position as best he can.
Poor strikes thrown by Nader there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Nader misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Nader has control of Caraan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Caraan regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well Nader has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
