PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jean Charles Skarbowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magician Rapist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Skarbowsky might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lux Aeterna. Magician Rapist told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Skarbowsky fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rapist, pushing him back against the cage.
Rapist lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Rapist lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Skarbowsky.
Rapist is looking for a takedown.
Rapist is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Skarbowsky to keep the fight standing.
Skarbowsky tries to land a knee to the head but Rapist blocks with his arms.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Rapist.
Skarbowsky blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Rapist blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Rapist throws a head punch that misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rapist.
Skarbowsky can't get the takedown.
Rapist lands with a left to the head.
Rapist misses with a hook from the clinch.
Rapist tries to stall but Skarbowsky uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rapist scores with a shot to the side of Skarbowsky's head.

It looks like Jean Charles Skarbowsky has been cut.
Rapist misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Rapist jumps guard and drags Skarbowsky to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Skarbowsky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Rapist has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Skarbowsky can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rapist looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Skarbowsky has picked Rapist up and slammed him! Rapist can't keep hold of the triangle and Skarbowsky manages to pass to side control!
Rapist sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Rapist has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Skarbowsky is working away from the top position though.
Rapist is pressing down on Skarbowsky's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rapist tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Skarbowsky wants to control from the top but Rapist keeps moving.
Skarbowsky wants to pass the guard but Rapist is keeping the position.

Rapist working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Skarbowsky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Skarbowsky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rapist is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Skarbowsky is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Skarbowsky wants to control from the top but Rapist keeps moving.
Rapist is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Skarbowsky would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Rapist escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Skarbowsky gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rapist striking off his back but it's not causing Skarbowsky any problems.

Rapist looking for a guillotine here but Skarbowsky defends easily.

Rapist looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Skarbowsky has picked Rapist up and slammed him! Rapist can't keep hold of the triangle and Skarbowsky manages to pass to side control!

Rapist is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Skarbowsky is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Rapist is looking to improve his position but Skarbowsky isn't that keen on the idea.

Rapist is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Skarbowsky is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rapist has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rapist!

Rapist stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Skarbowsky throws up his legs and catches Rapist in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Rapist tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Skarbowsky! That came out of nowhere!
