Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nathan Varquez!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Chris Dean and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hold tries to keep at a distance but Varquez has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hold changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Varquez tries to avoid it but Hold manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Varquez to the ground. Varquez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hold shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Varquez as he jumps to the side.

Varquez clinches up with Hold and pushes him back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Varquez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hold just stands there and leans against the cage.
Varquez wants the takedown. Hold is fighting it off but Varquez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hold's guard against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Hold will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Nathan Varquez's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Varquez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hold, pushing him back against the cage.
Hold looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hold has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Varquez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hold.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
