Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Claud Mercer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Titus Raptis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Titus Raptis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Claud Mercer's chin.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Mercer. Raptis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Raptis fails with a takedown attempt.

and Mercer counters with a one-two to the body.
Raptis misses with a series of wild punches.
Raptis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mercer defends well and Raptis ends up having to push Mercer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Raptis is pushing Mercer up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Mercer is trying to drag Raptis to the mat but Raptis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mercer can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Raptis. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Raptis is defended easily by Mercer.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Claud Mercer.
I think Raptis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
